We Love Soaps Emmy Award Worst Dressed List

I am no fashion expert but I love lists so here is my top five worst dressed list from the soap world at last night's Emmy Awards. 1 Melody Thomas Scott from THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS wore all white. I don't like the way it fits, the jewelry or the accessories. 1 Ashley Jones from THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL wore a black and white dress that has too much going on. The top is okay but the bottom looks too mermaid-y to me. 1 I love me some Leann Hunley from DAYS OF OUR LIVES but this dress is a mess. The necklace is cute though. 1 Carolyn Hennesy from GENERAL HOSPITAL wore a gold dress with lines going in several directions and some red thing going on up top. And no necklace? 1 Even though she's not really a "leading" actress anymore, I was happy to see Jeanne Cooper from THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS get honored with an Emmy last night. She gave a hilarious acceptance speech. The only problem was her dress. Man, that was bad.

I covered the worst, now it's time for the best dressed at last night's Emmy Awards. 1 Jennifer Landon, formerly of AS THE WORLD TURNS, usually picks the worst dresses but this year she looked fabulous. Congrats, Jennifer, on your three-peat. 1 Heather Tom from THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL looked great on the red carpet in this Jack Mackenroth design (which will be auctioned off for charity). Heather's dress on the telecast however was a nightmare. 1 Emily O'Brien from THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS didn't win last night but she looked great in this simple but perfect dress. 1 Marcy Rylan from GUIDING LIGHT did something a little different this year with a Badgley Mischka dress and I liked it! 1 Tracey E. Bregman from THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS stood out for me last night. Her dress was so elegant and her hair and accessories were made of win.

1 THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS actors Christel Khalil and Doug Davidson were two of the celebs picking up up their goodie bags at the Daytime Emmy official gift lounge produced by On 3 Productions held at the Kodak Theatre today. The stars will soon be on their way to Crimson and Opera in Hollwood for SOAPnet's big Pre-Emmy bash.

1 - Photo by Sue Coflin, who also appears in the film I have received a number of inquiries about when my film, Manhattanites, will be released so I wanted to provide an update here. For those who don't know, my partner and I, who formed Loger Inc a few years back, were the Executive Producers of the film. I wrote the script with my long-time friend, Gregori J. Martin, who directed and starred in the movie. The film stars several familiar faces to soap fans including Ilene Kristen, Forbes March, Aiden Turner, David Fumero and Jill Larson. We held a very successful two night industry screening in late May with the cast (see photo), crew, potential distributors and a few select guests from press. Over the past few weeks we have been working on final edits and sound design. We are shaving a few minutes off the film and perfecting the sound but it will not be radically different than the version we screened, just a cleaner version. That process should be completed by the end of June at which time we will begin a big push with distribution companies. The next steps could play out in a number of ways. The film could get picked up right away and you'll see it on DVD in the not too distant future. We may also visit some select film festivals to stir up interest. Either way, the process has been a fun ride so far and I'm sure it will continue to be.
