Maeve Quinlan starring in the hottest lesbian comedy on the net 1 From soap star to veritable lesbian icon, Executive Producer and actress Maeve Quinlan's on the cutting edge of scripted comedy with the hilarious and irreverent lesbian-themed Internet romp, 3WAY. Along with her former co-workers and best pals, Nancylee Myatt and Paige Bernhardt, Quinlan conceived of and created the sensation that has become 3WAY, about a straight soap actress who moves her best gay girlfriend into her home only to be followed by an array of whacky lesbian characters. Billed as, "The hottest lesbian comedy NOT on TV," the little Internet show that could co-stars Jill Bennett, Cathy Shim and co-writer Maile Flanagan. But with wildly inventive guest appearances by the original BUFFY, Kristy Swanson, as a loopy stalker and The L Word's Elizabeth Keener as compulsive liar and overly friendly ex-girlfriend, 3Way is already created much buzz and a can't-get-enough fan base. Quinlan, who appeared in the juicy soap, THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL, gained near cult status playing the homophobic mom of a lesbian teen in SOUTH OF NOWHERE. But her character Siobhan, the straight actress surrounded by gay women on 3WAY, is much closer to Quinlan's own experience. The new EASTENDERS RICKAAAAAAY is a name that is sure to be ringing in the ears of this young superstar in the making. Maisie Smith, six, from Westcliff, is playing the lead role of Tiffany Dean in the hit BBC soap EASTENDERS. Tiffany is a troublesome and cheeky lass, and the youngest daughter of soap favourite Bianca Jackson, played by Patsy Palmer. Maisie's mum, Julia, 37, said the young actress shares quite a few traits with the character she plays. Mrs Smith said: "The role is an exaggeration of her own personality, she's a little madam. A lively character both on and off screen." EASTENDERS actresses win at awards EASTENDERS stars Lacey Turner and Jo Joyner have apparently emerged victorious from the All About Soap Bubble Awards. It seems Jo scooped the Tearjerker gong thanks to the Stacey-Max-Tanya love-triangle - and also won best Soap Slap, which occurred when her character Tanya found out about her husband's affair with Stacey, played by Lacey. Jo told the BBC EastEnders website: "I'm especially pleased we won for the slap, because I love the action scenes. It's all in the reaction, so Lacey and her hair-swish deserve this one!" Lacey also apparently featured in the Secret's Out category, with her alter ego's fling with Max voted the best of the bunch. Lacey told the website: "It means much more to know the public enjoyed it." Liveblogging AS THE WORLD TURNS: House of 1000 Coitus Interruptuses AfterElton's play by play from Friday's episode. Emmy-winning set designer assists JM production Tim Goodmanson, who has won Emmy Awards for his work on AS THE WORLD TURNS, came to Rochester to design and help paint the sets for the classic musical "Oklahoma," which opens Thursday. Blog update from Ricky Paull Goldin April 9: "Last night, which was the night before my first day at work, I went to a benefit for the Heart Share Foundation, honoring amongst others, Cameron Mathison. I went with Jill Larson, Rebecca Budig, Alicia Minshew, and Melissa Claire Egan, Cameron, and his wife. It was the first time that I took pictures with my new television family. It was strange for me, but I don't know whether it was because of the new show, or because I've never been that comfortable with the paparazzi. Anyway, I went because Linda Dano asked me to, and I love Linda dearly. If Linda were 5 years younger, or I were 5 years older, she would be Linda Goldin, because I adore that woman. She said the most beautiful things as she presented an award to Cameron Mathison. I also had some really good bonding time with the ladies of All My Children. I have to say that everybody told me that the cast of AMC is very warm and loving, and all I can say is that first hand, one by one, I'm seeing just how right everybody was. Walt Willey called me the other night to welcome me aboard. Michael E. Knight was already acting like a big brother when I interrupted his haircut at the studio. Jacob Young gave me a big old bear hug today (my first day) in the hallway as I went down to do my first scenes on the studio floor of All My Children. Now, I would definitely go into telling you everything that I shot today, but I am sworn to secrecy. I don't know what is in the magazines or isn't, but the story will unfold rather quickly I'm sure. All I can tell you is that I think it is a really good re-introduction to Pine Valley for this character. I'll give you a clue, it took me 20 minutes in the shower to wash all the blood off after I was done shooting. And that's all I can say." More storms coming on DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES Wisteria Lane survived a tornado, but more tempests are coming when ABC's DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES returns Sunday (ABC, 9 ET/PT) for the first of seven post-strike hours. Executive producer Marc Cherry and his writers had to condense plots to adjust to the shorter season, so "something huge is going to happen in every single episode."
