Dragon*Con Firefly Panel 2: Nathan Fillion Soap Opera Face
Kimberlin Brown in South Africa for Project Golf 2014 1 Project Golf 2014 - a Women's World Cup of Golf initiative inspired by CEO Tania Fourie - was launched last month in George at Kingswood Golf Club. Fourie said the project aims to produce 2,014 young golfers, many of them girls from previously disadvantaged backgrounds, with official handicaps by 2014. Former THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL and THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS star Kimberlin Brown, international ambassador for Project Golf 2014, launched the Kingswood chapter. Brown and her family have also been instrumental in fundraising for the project in America. "I am absolutely thrilled to be back in South Africa launching the third chapter in this project. It is through such initiatives that the youth of today has something exciting and enjoyable to strive for." LYNN LICCARDO: On Meeting ATWT's Helen Wagner "Now I knew perfectly well that the woman sitting behind the table was Helen Wagner, the actor, not Nancy Hughes, the character. But my brain was seized by the cognitive dissonance of seeing her out of context." INTERVIEW: AMC's Michael E. Knight Knight, who has played Tad on ALL MY CHILDREN since the early 1980s, appeared on "Stardish Radio" last night. 1 TOM CASIELLO: Soap Art "Thanks, Maria and Hogan... and the entire cast and crew of YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS. When Tuesday's episode ended, I felt like I'd just been moved by an incredible painting in a museum." 90210: Old number, same whiny, rich "What it is -- just like the original -- is a likable, 'of its time' depiction of silver spoon teenagers living the high life with an appealing Cinderella subtext to make it accessible to the gum-snappin' riff raff who make up 99 per cent of the viewing audience." HOLLYOAKS stars say goodbye HOLLYOAKS gorgeous boys and girls took a break from filming to take over Chaya for a night. Dressed in their best glad rags, 150 guests headed to the Wood Street bar and restaurant to say farewell to actors James Sutton (John Paul McQueen) and his on-screen sister Leah Hackett (Tina). They were joined by the rest of the McQueen clan, including Claire Cooper (Jacqui) and Jennifer Metcalfe (Mercedes), and also Ricky Whittle (Calvin Valentine) and Nick Pickard (Tony Richardson). James Sutton's Jake love The 25-year-old actor's character in the soap, John Paul McQueen, is in a relationship with Jake's character Kieron Hobbs - a former priest who is murdered in an upcoming episode - and admits their on-screen partnership helped them forge a strong friendship. James said: "I really miss working with Jake Hendriks. I love him to bits. We're very close, so I'll still see him." Is HayPan the next LiLo? At 19, former GL/OLTL child actress Panettiere seems to be following in former AW child actress Lohan's footsteps.
Finally! Something Original On Daytime!
Mushroom hunting! Yes, AS THE WORLD TURNS' Lucinda Walsh is going mushroom hunting today. And just think, it wasn't that long ago when she gave this brilliant answer in a Soap Opera Digest Interview: Digest: Is there a story that you've wanted to tell but haven't? Passanante: Not really. That's really an unusual thing to say on a soap, but no. We joke around sometimes about preposterous ideas, but the things that we've actually talked about doing, we've either done or we're going to do or we're thinking about doing. Well, I guess she finally was able to come up with something new. At least it looks funny.
Meg Ryan and Co-Stars at 'The Women' Premiere
1 Candice Bergen, Debra Messing, Jada Pinkett Smith, Meg Ryan (ex-Betsy, AS THE WORLD TURNS), Annette Bening and Cloris Leachman attended the Los Angeles premiere of their new film, The Women, at Mann Village Theater on Thursday. The film centers on a group of gossipy, high-society women who spend their days at the beauty salon and haunting fashion shows. The sweet, happily-wedded Mary Haines (Ryan) finds her marriage in trouble when shop girl Crystal Allen gets her hooks into Mary's man. Naturally, this situation becomes the hot talk amongst Mary's catty friends, especially the scandalmonger Sylvia Fowler, who has little room to talk - she finds herself on a train to Reno and headed for divorce right after Mary.
