ATWT's Jon Hensley on Holden/Carly
Reva pops the question on GUIDING LIGHT, no Josh-in' In her typical brash fashion, GUIDING LIGHT heroine Reva proposes to Jeffrey next week. "They have this great day moving into The Beacon, and Reva decides they need their own song," says Kim Zimmer (below), who plays Reva. "They have these cute romantic scenes figuring out what their love song is." 1 VIDEO: Behind the scenes at DAYS DAYS OF OUR LIVES is one of the most popular soap operas on daytime television and the NBC studio in Burbank is where it all happens. KSEE visited the set and the tour guide was Darin Brooks, better known as Max Brady. He is the former race car driver, turned bar tender who in just the three years on the show, has already had quite a life. He said he used to fund illegal prostitution and done plenty of other crazy things as Max. Brooks walked KSEE through the fictional town of Salem, home to some of the most outlandish and most memorable story lines. He showed us the many mansions that host the trials and tribulations of feuding families--serial killings, baby swamping, affairs and lots of brainwashing. Springfield has played a soap heartthrob - and is still one in real life Rick Springfield returned to GENERAL HOPSITAL in 2005 with absolutely no intention of singing on the soap opera. The actor-musician was there to be Dr. Noah Drake - the heartthrob surgeon he originated in 1983 - and that was it. Then came a new CD ("Venus in Overdrive," due out July 29) and the opportunity to perform one of the album's tracks - "Who Killed Rock 'N Roll - and suddenly the idea of singing on camera didn't sound so bad. The show's writers created a Dr. Noah Drake look-alike - rocker Eli Love - and Springfield had his opportunity to perform on camera. "I ended up playing a rock star, which I vowed I would never do," said Springfield, 58, between concerts in Milwaukee, part of a tour that takes him to the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts on Wednesday night. "You get (the music) out however you can get it out." Look for Eli Love to make a return appearance to GH in the days leading up to the CD's release, performing "What's Victoria's Secret," the first single off of "Venus in Overdrive." EMMERDALE, CORRIE and EASTENDERS spoilers for tonight EMMERDALE: You know how honesty is supposed to be vital in a marriage? Well, sometimes it's not and Ashley has still got his vicar's knickers in a twist over Laurel's confession that she kissed Greg - a man with all the sex appeal of a steak and ale pie. CORONATION STREET: Choice of background music is crucial when you're trying to snare a fella. The Verve's "The Drugs Don't Work" did wonders for Carla. It should be on everybody's Music To Snog Your Brother-In-Law-To playlist. But she makes a balls-up of it tonight. As Liam makes up his mind who he wants to spend the rest of his life with (OK, make that the rest of the week), Carla's got Amy Winehouse doing "Back To Black" (aka the anthem of the lover who finished in second place). EASTENDERS: The chewed lip, the sad expression... we've suspected for a long time that Ronnie was harbouring a painful secret. I'd have guessed constipation, but tonight she puts Peggy and the rest of us in the picture.
